What happens on every visit

- Skim the surfaceLeaves, bugs and anything else floating.
- Empty the basketsThe skimmer basket and the pump basket, so water flows freely.
- Brush walls and stepsIncluding the waterline tile, where scum and algae start.
- Vacuum the floorWhen there's dirt or debris on the bottom.
- Test and balance the waterChlorine, pH and alkalinity, with chemicals added on the spot.
- Check the filterWe note the pressure and tell you when a filter clean is due.
- Look over the equipmentPump, heater and timer checked for leaks, noises and error lights.
- Close the gate and reportThe gate is latched behind us and you get the visit report.
Not part of a weekly visit: filter deep cleans (every three to four months, $90), green-pool clean-ups and repairs. We tell you before any of these are needed and quote them separately. Sample prices.
One-off service
Green pool clean-ups
A pool that's turned green after a holiday, a broken pump or a new house can usually be cleared in three to five days. Very dark water, or a filter that's past its best, takes longer, and we tell you so on the first visit.
From $275
Covers the visits and shock for most pools up to 20,000 gallons. Final price confirmed after we see the water. Sample price.
Ask about a clean-upDay 1
Test, clear and shock
We test the water, net out leaves and debris, shock the pool and start the filter running around the clock.
Day 2
Brush and filter
Walls and floor brushed so the filter can catch what's loose. The water turns cloudy, which is expected.
Day 3
Vacuum and clean the filter
Settled dirt vacuumed out and the filter cleaned, because by now it's full.
Days 4 to 5
Balance and hand over
Water rebalanced and checked again. You can switch to weekly service or take it from here.
Timings are typical and depend on the pool. Keep everyone out of the water until we've retested it and told you the readings.
Pump, filter and heater repairs
We repair the equipment that keeps the water moving, clean and warm, whether or not you're on a weekly plan.
Pumps
Pumps that won't prime, hum without starting, leak at the seal or have grown loud. We replace seals, motors or the whole pump, and can fit a variable-speed pump.
Filters
Cartridge, sand and DE filters cleaned, regridded or replaced. A filter that's always high on pressure usually needs a clean or new media.
Heaters and heat pumps
Gas heaters that won't light and heat pumps that run without warming the water. Work on the gas line itself goes to a gas fitter.
Leaks, valves and timers
Dripping unions, stuck valves, broken timers and lights that won't switch on. We trace a leak before we quote for the fix.
Diagnostic visit, $95. We find the fault and give you a written price for the repair. If you go ahead, the $95 comes off the bill. Sample price
Book a diagnostic visitSomething sounds or looks wrong
What we hear about most often, and what you can check before we get there.
| What you notice | It often means | Before we arrive |
|---|---|---|
| The pump hums but doesn't run | A seized motor or a failed start part | Switch the pump off at the timer or breaker so the motor doesn't overheat. |
| Bubbles come out of the return jets | Air getting in, often because the water level is low | Check the water is halfway up the skimmer opening and top it up if not. |
| Filter pressure is higher than usual | The filter is dirty or the media is worn | Write down the reading and tell us when you call. |
| The heater won't come on | Low flow, a tripped safety switch or a fault code | Leave the heater cover on and note any code on the display. |
| Water level drops overnight | A leak, or evaporation in hot, windy weather | Mark the level with tape and check it again in 24 hours. |
If anything smells of gas, or a breaker keeps tripping, stay away from the equipment and call the gas company or an electrician first.

Questions pool owners ask
Anything else, call (555) 018-4471 or ask on the quote form.
Do I need to be home for the visit?
No. Most customers aren't. We need gate access, and pets kept indoors on your service day.
What day will you come?
Your service day depends on your street, and it stays the same each week. You get a text when we're on the way.
What if it storms on my service day?
We don't work in lightning. We come back the next working day, and clear storm debris on that visit.
How does billing work?
Plans are billed monthly for the visits in that month. Repairs and clean-ups are quoted in writing before we start. These are sample terms.
Can you look after an above-ground pool?
Yes. The plans and prices are the same, and closing costs a little less.
Do you service hotels or apartment pools?
No, homes only. We're set up for back-yard pools and spas.
