Custom cabinetry and joinery Sample business

Kitchens and built-ins, made to measure in our workshop

We measure your room, draw every cabinet, build it in our own shop and fit it ourselves. The cabinetmaker who measures your kitchen stays on it until the last hinge is adjusted.

What we build

Everything is made to your room's measurements, from solid hardwood and hardwood plywood. Sample prices per linear foot

  • Kitchens

Base and wall cabinets, tall pantries and islands, drawn around how you cook and what you keep. We leave exact spaces for appliances and agree the pipe and socket positions with your other trades.

Base cabinets from $520 per linear foot

    Ask about kitchens
  • Bookcases and libraries

Floor-to-ceiling shelving, library walls and window seats. Shelves are solid wood and sized so a full row of books won't make them sag.

    From $420 per linear foot

    Ask about bookcases and libraries
  • Built-in wardrobes and media walls

Alcove cupboards, closet fronts and media walls built to fit the room, with cable routes and ventilation planned before we cut anything.

    From $420 per linear foot

Ask about built-in wardrobes and media walls
  • Bathroom vanities

Wall-hung or floor-standing, for one basin or two. Every surface is sealed against steam and splashes before it leaves the workshop.

    From $560 per linear foot

Woods and finishes

Four hardwoods and three finishes cover most of what we make. Pick a combination to see it on a door.

Wood
Finish
  • White oak

Straight grain with fine silver flecks. A pale honey colour that warms a little over the years.

    Our standard hardwood price
  • Walnut

Deep brown with a wavy grain. It lightens slightly toward gold in a sunny room.

Walnut column in the price table
  • Cherry

Smooth and fine-grained. It starts pinkish and darkens to a rich red-brown within a year or two of daylight.

    Priced the same as oak
  • Maple

Pale, hard and very even. We use it for painted doors because its grain doesn't show through the paint.

White oak, clear matte lacquerA hard, wipe-clean coat that keeps the wood's own colour. Our default for kitchens and vanities.

Colours on screen are approximate. At the workshop you can handle full-size sample doors in every wood and finish.

How a kitchen runs, from measure to install

A sample timeline for a mid-sized kitchen of about 20 linear feet. Bookcases and vanities usually take half as long. Sample timeline

  1. Week 1

    Measure and brief

We measure the room, check the walls for level and square, and ask how you use the space.

  2. Weeks 2 to 3

    Drawings and fixed price

A plan, elevations and a fixed price. Two rounds of changes are included.

  3. Week 4

    Sign-off and deposit

You sign the drawings and pay the deposit, and we order the timber for your job.

  4. Weeks 5 to 11

    Built in the workshop

Carcasses, doors and dovetailed drawers are made here. You're welcome to come and see your doors before they're finished.

  5. Weeks 11 to 12

    Finishing

Final sanding, then lacquer, oil or paint, sprayed in our finishing room.

  6. Week 13

    Installation

Two of us fit everything over three to five days, and we come back a month later to adjust hinges and drawers.

The workshop dates are fixed when you sign off, and we tell you straight away if timber delivery moves them.

Questions we get asked

Something else? Ask at your visit, or call (555) 016-4471.

Do you make the worktops too?

We make solid-wood worktops and island tops in oak, walnut and maple. For stone or quartz, we template the cabinets and work with the fabricator you choose.

Can you match cabinets we already have?

Usually. Bring us a door, or a photo with a tape measure in it, and we'll copy the profile. Paint can be matched from a chip or a door you lend us.

How do payments work?

40% when you sign the drawings, 40% when the cabinets leave the workshop and 20% after installation. These are sample terms.

Our walls aren't straight. Is that a problem?

Most walls aren't. We leave a little extra on end panels and fillers and scribe them to the wall on site, so the gaps disappear.

Will you build cabinets for us to fit ourselves?

Yes. You get the same cabinets and a set of fitting drawings, and you can collect them from the workshop or have us deliver.

What if something goes wrong later?

Call us. We repair any joinery fault for ten years, and hinges and drawer runners are adjustable for the life of the kitchen. Sample terms.
