How pick-up works
Most lessons start and end at your door. The area and timings below are samples.
Tell us where
When you book, give us a pick-up address inside our area: home, school, college or work.
We text on the way
Your instructor texts you when they set off, so you're not waiting at the window.
Permit check at the door
They check your permit or licence, then drive the first few minutes to a quiet street.
Back where you started
The lesson ends where it began, or at another address in the area if you tell us at the start.
- Pick-up area
- Anywhere within 10 miles of the office.
- School pick-ups
- From the school gate at the end of the day, with a parent's written OK.
- Outside the area
- Meet us at a spot inside it, or ask about a small travel fee.
60 minutes
What happens on your first lesson
No busy roads on day one. You'll leave knowing the car, and with a plan for lesson two.
0–10 min
A quiet street first
Your instructor drives a few minutes to somewhere calm, with little traffic and room to stop.
10–25 min
Seat, mirrors and controls
You set up the seat, mirrors and wheel, then go through the pedals, signals and gear selector.
25–50 min
Moving off and stopping
Pulling away, stopping smoothly where you choose, then left and right turns if you're ready.
50–60 min
What happens next
We write up what you did and what the next lesson covers in your lesson record.
What to bring to every lesson
Tick things off as you get ready. Nothing is saved or sent.
Permit and test rules differ from state to state. Check your state's licensing office website for the documents and practice hours it asks for, and bring any questions to your lesson.
Your instructor
You keep the same instructor from your first lesson to test day. Ask for someone by name when you book.

Questions learners ask
Something else? Call (555) 017-3384 and the office will help.
How many lessons will I need?
We can't say before we've seen you drive. After your first lesson your instructor gives you a rough number and updates it as you go.
Can I learn in my own car?
Lessons are in our dual-control cars. When you're close to test standard, ask your instructor about a practice drive in the car you'll drive afterwards.
Do you teach manual (stick shift)?
Not at the moment. All our cars are automatic. This is a sample policy.
Can a parent ride along?
Yes, for the last ten minutes of any lesson, so you know what to practise between lessons. Tell us when you book.
What if I need to cancel?
Give us 24 hours' notice and we'll move the lesson at no charge. With less notice, the lesson is charged. Sample policy.
Can I use your car for my test?
Yes, with the test package, where your licensing office allows a school car. Check their rules when you book the test.
Book a lesson
Tell us what you'd like and when you're free. The office confirms a time and your instructor by text. This is a demo form, so nothing is sent. Concept
