Pest control for homes, starting with an inspection

Ruestone treats ants, mice and rats, wasp nests and bed bugs, and inspects for termites. On the first visit we look for where they're getting in, then tell you what we'd do and what it costs before anything is treated.

  • A written price before any treatment
  • A visit sheet with what was used and when it's OK to go back in

  1. The attic and roof edges
  2. Kitchen, bathrooms and under sinks
  3. The crawl space or basement
  4. Outside walls, doors and the garden edge

What we treat

Homes and the yard around them. What you'll usually notice first, what we do about it, and roughly what it costs. Sample prices

  • Ants

    Signs
Trails along counters and baseboards, or small piles of soil between paving stones.
    What we do
We follow the trail to where they get in, bait along it and treat the outside edge of the house.
    Visits
Usually one visit, with a free check if they're back within 30 days
    From $149Book a visit
  • Mice and rats

    Signs
Droppings in cupboards, chewed food packets, or scratching in the ceiling at night.
    What we do
We find the gaps they use, set locked bait stations or traps out of reach, and seal small holes as we go.
    Visits
A first visit and two checks over about three weeks
    From $229Book a visit
  • Wasp and hornet nests

    Signs
Steady traffic in and out of one spot: under the eaves, in a shed or in a hole in the lawn.
    What we do
We treat the nest, usually the same or next day, and take it down once it's safe to reach. We don't treat honeybees and will point you to a local beekeeper.

  • Bed bugs

    Signs
Small dark spots along mattress seams, or bites in a line that appear overnight.
    What we do
We inspect beds, sofas and the furniture around them, treat the rooms affected and give you a prep list for the first visit.
    Visits
Two visits, about two weeks apart
From $395 for the first roomBook a visit
  • Termite inspections

    Signs
Mud tubes on foundation walls, wood that sounds hollow, or small wings on windowsills in spring.
    What we do
We check the foundation, crawl space, garage and outside woodwork, then send a written report with photos. If we find activity, treatment is quoted separately.

Prices include the inspection on the same visit. Homes over 3,000 sq ft and outbuildings may cost more, and we tell you before we start.

How a first visit works

The same order every time, whatever the pest. Timings are samples.

  1. Pick a time

You choose a morning or afternoon window. We text when the technician is on the way.

  2. Inspection, about 45 minutes

Inside and out: kitchen, bathrooms, the attic hatch, the crawl space or basement, the outside walls and the garden edge. We show you what we find as we go.

  3. A plan and a price

We tell you what we'd treat, with what type of product, and what it costs. Nothing is treated until you say yes.

  4. Treatment and a visit sheet

Most treatments can start on the same visit. You keep a sheet that says what was used, where, and when it's OK to go back into each room.

If you have pets or young children

Tell us when you book. It changes where we put things, what type of product we use and how long rooms stay closed.

What to tell us

  • Children in the home, and anyone pregnant
  • Dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and fish tanks
  • Anyone with asthma, allergies or chemical sensitivity
  • Vegetable beds, fruit trees and the places children play outside

What we do on every visit

  • Baits go in locked stations, or in places children and pets can't reach
  • Indoors we treat cracks, gaps and wall voids where we can, and keep off open floors and counters
  • We tell you how long to keep people and pets out of each treated area, and write it on the visit sheet
  • You can ask for the label and safety sheet of any product before we use it
Worth knowing

Every pest control product carries some risk, and we won't tell you a treatment is risk-free. If you'd rather avoid chemicals, ask about traps, sealing gaps or removing a nest by hand. They don't always work, and we'll say when we think they won't.

Questions people ask before booking

Anything else, call (555) 017-3318 and ask for a technician.

Do I need to leave the house during a treatment?

For most indoor treatments, you and your pets stay out of the treated rooms until it's dry, usually two to four hours. The technician tells you the time for each room and writes it on your visit sheet. Bed bug treatments need longer.

Will one visit get rid of them?

Sometimes. Ants and wasp nests often need one visit. Mice usually need a few checks, and bed bugs always need at least two treatments. We tell you what to expect at the inspection.

Are your products safe for pets and children?

Every pest control product carries some risk, so we don't call any of them safe. What we can do is use the type and amount that fits the job, put it where pets and children can't get to it, and tell you how long to keep everyone away. Ask for the label of anything we plan to use.

Can you do it without chemicals?

Sometimes. Traps, sealing gaps and taking down a nest by hand can work, and we'll say when we think they will. When they won't, we'll say that too.

Are you licensed?

This is a concept site, so it claims no licence or certification. A real pest control company would list its state licence number here and on every visit sheet.

Do you deal with wildlife, like raccoons or snakes?

No. We'll give you the number of a local wildlife removal service.
