Wine from our own hillside, poured in the barn where we make it

We grow six grapes on twelve acres and make every bottle on the farm. Come up for a flight at the bar, walk the rows with one of us, or book the barn for a dinner.

21+ to taste. We check photo ID at the bar.

Before you taste

  • Everyone tasting must be 21 or over with a photo ID. We check every guest, every visit.
  • A tasting pour is 1 oz, so a four-pour flight is a little under one glass of wine.
  • There's a spit cup and water on every table, and no one minds if you use them.

Please drink responsibly and plan your ride home before you come up the hill.

Vineyard tours

Both tours are led by the family who farm the vines and make the wine, and both need a reservation. Sample times and prices

  • Vineyard walk

Sat and Sun, 10:30 am75 min$30 per person

One of the family walks you up the slope through the rows and explains what the vines are doing that month. You finish in the barn with the estate flight.

Up to 14 people. The path is grass and a steady climb, so wear closed shoes.

  • Cellar and barrel tasting

    Fridays, 4:00 pm60 min$40 per person

Taste wines still in the barrel with the winemaker, then the same wines from the bottle a year or two on, so you can compare.

Three releases a year

How the wine club works

The club is how we sell most of our small-lot wine. Here's exactly what joining means, including how to stop.

  1. Choose a size

Three or six bottles per release. We pick a mix of what's new, and you can ask for all red or all white instead.

  2. We email you two weeks before each release

Releases are in March, June and October. The email lists the wines and the price, and you can swap bottles or skip that one.

  3. You pay when the release is ready

Your card is charged on release day, never in advance. Then you pick up at the tasting room or we ship it.

  4. Stop whenever you like

After your first two releases, cancel by email or phone at any time before the next charge.

Three bottles

$70–$95 per release

Free tastings for you and a guest, and 15% off any bottle.

Six bottles

$135–$180 per release

Everything in the three-bottle option, plus first pick of the late-harvest and reserve wines.

Ask about joining

Prices are before tax and shipping. We can only ship to states that allow it, and an adult 21 or over has to sign for every delivery.

  • The barn room

    Up to 40 seated

Long tables under the original beams, beside the tanks. Open all year.

  • The vine terrace

    Up to 60 standing

A covered deck facing the slope, with heaters for cool evenings. May to October.

  • The whole tasting room

    Up to 80

After 6 pm on a Thursday or Friday, when we close to the public.

What's included

  • Tables, chairs, linen and glassware
  • Our staff to pour all evening
  • A guided tasting to start, if you'd like one
  • Parking for every guest by the barn

How booking works

Send us your date and guest count. We reply with what's free and a minimum spend on wine, which starts at $800 on weeknights. Food comes from a caterer on our list or your own licensed caterer. A 25% deposit holds the date.

Questions before you visit

Anything else, call the tasting room on (555) 014-7735.

Do we need a reservation?

Not for the estate flight or the whites and rosé flight, for groups of up to six. The reserve flight, both tours and groups of seven or more need a reservation. Sample policy.

Can we bring children or a dog?

Children are welcome with an adult, and we keep juice and lawn games for them. Dogs on a lead are welcome on the terrace and lawn, but not in the barn. Sample policy.

Can we bring a picnic?

Yes, on the lawn. Please don't bring other wine or alcohol, because we can only serve our own.

Is the tasting fee taken off if we buy wine?

One tasting fee comes off for every two bottles you buy that day, and wine club members taste for free. Sample terms.

Is there something for the driver?

Yes. Drivers get a free sparkling grape juice and a glass of water at any flight. Sample offer.

Is the tasting room accessible?

There's a level path from the two accessible parking spaces to the barn door, a step-free bar and an accessible restroom. The vineyard walk itself is on a slope.

How to find us

1180 Sample Ridge Road Sample address

  1. From the county road, turn onto Sample Ridge Road at the feed store.
  2. Drive two miles up the hill. Our gravel drive is on the left, after the row of mailboxes.
  3. Park on the grass by the barn. The two accessible spaces are next to the door.

Phone signal is patchy on the ridge and ride-share cars are hard to find up here. Book your ride home before you come, or ask at the bar and we'll call a local taxi.
