What we make
Everything in the case is made here, and anything in it can be remade in your size and metal. Most people come in with a few pictures and a rough budget.
Engagement rings
Solitaires, three-stone rings and halos in yellow, white or rose gold, or platinum. Bring pictures of rings you like, or start from one in our case.

Four steps, about seven weeks
How a custom ring gets made
You see and approve the ring twice before any gold is cut: once as a drawing and once as a model on your finger. Sample timings
Consultation
Week 1About 45 minutes at the counter. We look at your ideas, try sample rings on for size and shape, and talk through a budget. It costs nothing.
Sketch and quote
Within a weekWe draw the ring from the front and the side and send it with a fixed quote. Change it as often as you need before you approve it.
A model to try on
Weeks 2 to 3A wax or printed resin copy of the ring, so you can check the fit and how it sits on your hand before any gold is used. A 50% deposit starts the making.
Making and finishing
Weeks 3 to 7We cast or hand-forge the ring, set the stones, polish it and size it. Collect it from the shop, or we ship it insured.
Timings, the deposit and the free consultation are sample terms for this concept. A real shop sets its own.

Find your ring size at home
A strip of paper and a ruler with millimeters get you close. We size your finger properly at the consultation.
- Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger, snug enough to slide over the knuckle.
- Mark where the paper overlaps, then lay it flat and measure to the mark in millimeters.
- Or measure straight across the inside of a ring that already fits that finger.
| Size | Inside, across | Around |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | 14.9 mm | 46.8 mm |
| 5 | 15.7 mm | 49.3 mm |
| 6 | 16.5 mm | 51.9 mm |
| 7 | 17.3 mm | 54.4 mm |
| 8 | 18.1 mm | 57.0 mm |
| 9 | 18.9 mm | 59.5 mm |
| 10 | 19.8 mm | 62.1 mm |
| 11 | 20.6 mm | 64.6 mm |
| 12 | 21.4 mm | 67.2 mm |
- Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger.
- If your knuckle is much wider than the base, measure both and pick a size between them.
- Bands 6 mm and wider usually need a quarter to half size larger.
Cleaning and caring for your rings
Soap, warm water and a soft toothbrush clean most rings. Worn prongs are the usual reason a stone goes missing, so we check them for free.
Cleaning at home
- Soak the ring for 20 minutes in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap.
- Brush gently around and behind the stone with a soft toothbrush.
- Rinse in a bowl of clean warm water, never over an open drain.
- Dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
Pearls, opals and emeralds: wipe with a damp cloth only. Don't soak them or use an ultrasonic cleaner.
Bring it in to us
We clean, polish and check every prong while you wait, free, whether or not you bought the ring here.
Take rings off before:
- The gym
- Gardening
- Chlorinated pools
- Cleaning with bleach
- Hand cream
Questions we're often asked
Something else? Call (555) 014-2219 while we're open.
Can you use my own stone or old gold?
Yes. Bring it to the consultation. We check the stone is sound enough to reset, and tell you how much of your gold can go into the new piece before anything is melted.
Do you work with lab-grown diamonds?
Yes, and with natural ones. The quote and the receipt say which a stone is. We don't grade stones ourselves; if a stone comes with a report from a grading lab, it comes to you with the ring.
Do you do insurance appraisals?
No. We give you a written receipt that describes the piece, and if your insurer asks for a valuation we can point you to an independent appraiser.
Do I need an appointment for a repair?
No. Repairs and cleans are walk-in whenever we're open. Consultations for new rings are booked, so we have time to sit down with you.
Can every ring be resized?
Most can. Rings with stones all the way round, tension settings and very thin old bands often can't. We'll tell you at the counter and suggest another way if there is one.
What if the ring doesn't fit when I collect it?
We resize it free within 60 days of collection. This is a sample policy.
