Keeping your flowers fresh
Most bouquets last a week, and longer with a little care.
Recut the stems
Cut about an inch off each stem at an angle with a sharp knife or scissors before they go in water, and again every two or three days.
Strip the low leaves
Any leaf that sits under the water will rot and cloud it. Pull them off before you arrange.
Change the water
Fresh, cool water every two days, with a little of the flower food from the packet we tuck in the wrap.
Pick a cool spot
Keep the vase away from radiators, sunny windowsills and the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit makes flowers fade faster.
- Tulips
- They grow up to an inch after cutting. Trim them shorter than you think, and turn the vase each day if they lean.
- Hydrangeas
- If the heads wilt, submerge the whole flower in cool water for half an hour. They drink through their petals.
- Lilies
- Pinch out the orange pollen as the buds open, before it stains. Lilies are poisonous to cats, so keep them out of reach.
- Daffodils
- Their sap shortens the life of other flowers. Stand them in water on their own for a few hours before mixing them in.
Questions people ask before ordering
Anything else, call the shop on (555) 017-4410.
Can I choose the exact flowers?
Yes. Tell us in the order notes or call the shop. If something isn't at its best that day, we'll ring you before swapping it.
What happens if nobody is home?
We leave the flowers with a neighbour or in a safe spot you name, and text you where they are. If neither works, we bring them back the next morning. Sample policy.
Do you deliver to hospitals?
Yes, to the main front desk. Some wards don't allow flowers, especially intensive care, so it's worth checking with the ward first.
Can I collect from the shop instead?
Yes, from an hour after you order. Pickup is free and you can pay in the shop.
Do you sell plants?
A small range of house plants and potted orchids, mostly for gifts. Ask what we have in.
Order flowers
Choose a bouquet and a size, tell us where it's going and what to write on the card. This is a demo form, so nothing is sent. Concept
