What's inside

Five chapters, written for owners.

  1. Make booking effortless everywhere clients find youMost new clients decide in a few taps, so every place they see you should lead to the same real booking page.
  2. Cut no-shows without scaring off good clientsA clear policy, a card or deposit where it matters, and reminders clients can act on cover most no-show problems.
  3. Keep regulars coming back with rebooking, memberships and gift cardsYour easiest growth is the client already in your chair, so make the next visit the default.
  4. Get found locally: Google reviews and social contentNew clients judge you by your Google profile, your reviews and your recent work, usually in that order.
  5. Follow the texting, advertising and health privacy rulesText marketing and med spa advertising come with real rules; this is educational, so talk to your compliance advisor or attorney.

A tip from chapter 1

Connect your booking software to your Google Business Profile

Google lets salons, spas and studios take bookings straight from Search and Maps, either through a Reserve with Google provider or with a plain appointment link. Many platforms salons use, such as Mindbody, Booksy and Square Appointments, have offered this integration. Check your own platform's settings for a Google option and turn it on. Google notes that your provider might charge you for bookings made through Google, so read your plan's terms first. If your platform has no integration, add your online booking page as the appointment link instead.

This week: Search your business name on your phone, tap Book or the appointment link, and confirm it opens your live booking page.
