Free website · Salons, spas & groomers

A free website for your salon, spa or grooming business.

Before they book, new clients want to know what you offer, what it costs and whether your work looks like what they want. The salon starter is built around exactly that, and you can publish it free.

Advice

What makes a good salon, spa or grooming website.

  1. Put prices next to every treatment

A price list with "from" prices answers the question most people would otherwise call or message about. Add how long each treatment takes so people can plan their day.

  2. Show your own work, not stock photos

Clients choose on how the work looks. Use recent photos of real cuts, colours or grooms, taken in good light, and describe each one in a few words.

  3. Make the next step obvious

One clear button near the top ("Call to book", "Book a visit") beats several competing ones. Put your phone number and address where a phone user can tap them.

  4. Write your policies down

Deposits, late arrivals and cancellations cause most awkward conversations. A short, friendly paragraph on the site sets expectations before the first visit.

  5. Answer first-visit questions

Parking, patch tests, what to bring, whether you take walk-ins: the questions section is the place for the things new clients ask every week.

The Full-Chair Playbook: Bookings, Rebooking and Reviews for Salons

  • Make booking effortless everywhere clients find you

Connect your booking software to your Google Business Profile

Google lets salons, spas and studios take bookings straight from Search and Maps, either through a Reserve with Google provider or with a plain appointment link. Many platforms salons use, such as Mindbody, Booksy and Square Appointments, have offered this integration. Check your own platform's settings for a Google option and turn it on. Google notes that your provider might charge you for bookings made through Google, so read your plan's terms first. If your platform has no integration, add your online booking page as the appointment link instead.

  • Make booking effortless everywhere clients find you

Write a service menu a first-time client can book from

Clients abandon booking when they can't tell which service to pick. Use plain names, a starting price or price range, the real time it takes, and one line on who it's for. Group add-ons so they're offered during booking, not buried. For services that need a consultation or patch test, say so and make the consultation bookable. Fewer, clearer services usually beat a long list of near-duplicates.

  • Cut no-shows without scaring off good clients

Show your policy before clients book, not after they miss

Write a short cancellation and no-show policy: how much notice you need, what happens if they miss, and how they can reschedule. Show it on the booking page, in the confirmation and in the reminder so nobody is surprised. Booking platforms such as Vagaro, GlossGenius and Square Appointments let you require a card or a deposit, often set per service. Use deposits for long or high-value services, like color, extensions or a 90-minute massage, and keep quick services low-friction.

  • Get found locally: Google reviews and social content

Ask every client for a review, the way Google allows

Google's own advice is to ask customers to leave a review through a link or QR code, and to reply to reviews. Ask every client, not just the happy ones. Google prohibits offering discounts or freebies for reviews and selectively asking only satisfied clients. The FTC's rule on fake reviews, in effect since October 2024, also bars buying reviews and using threats or intimidation to suppress negative ones. Reply to every review briefly and personally, and keep promotions out of replies.

FAQ

Questions about a free salon, spa or grooming website

Can clients book appointments on the free website?

Online booking is part of the website plan ($29 a month): visitors pick an open time and get a calendar invite. On a free website the booking section stays hidden, so visitors reach you through your contact form, phone or email instead. Switch the plan on whenever you want online booking.

Can I list my treatments with prices?

Yes. The salon starter has a price list section called "Treatments & prices". Add each treatment with its price and a short description, and add more price lists if you offer different kinds of service.

Does this work for barbers and dog groomers too?

Yes. Price list, booking, gallery and questions suit any appointment business. Change the words, photos and colours, or start from one of the example looks.

How much does it cost?

Nothing to build and publish: your site goes live free on its own name.epicte.ch address with HTTPS and a small "Made with EpicTech" line in the footer. No card needed. The website plan ($29 a month) adds your own domain, online booking, event RSVPs, newsletters, members-only pages and a download of your site, and removes that line. Cancel any time and the site stays live on its free address.
