Free website · Accountants, lawyers & consultants

A free website for accountants, lawyers and consultants.

People choosing a firm look for three signals: that you handle their kind of problem, that you are a real, qualified team, and that getting started is easy. The professional starter is built around those.

Advice

What makes a good professional services website.

  1. Describe services in your clients' words

"Help with a letter from the IRS" is clearer to most people than "tax controversy". Use both if you need to, the plain one first.

  2. Show who they will work with

A team section with real names, roles and qualifications does more for trust than any slogan.

  3. Say who you work with

The starter has a "Who we work with" checklist. Being specific (sole traders, restaurants, families with rental property) helps the right clients recognise themselves.

  4. Explain what happens before the first meeting

What to bring, whether the first call is free, how fees work. The contact page has a "Before you get in touch" section for it.

  5. Keep confidential details out of web forms

Ask for contact details and a short description only. Collect documents through a secure method, not a general contact form.

Book More Consults, Protect Client Files: A Guide for Small Firms

  • Turn your website into a consultation desk

Let people book a consult without calling

Many prospects research firms after hours and on a phone. If the only option is "call during business hours," some of them move on to a firm that lets them pick a time. Put a booking link on every practice or service page, not just the contact page. Most practice platforms include or connect to a scheduler (Clio Scheduler, for example, can also take bookings from your Google Business Profile), and standalone tools work too. Offer a small number of clear consult types with a length and a short note on what to bring.

  • Turn your website into a consultation desk

Ask for the minimum before the first meeting

A long booking form stops people from booking. Ask only for what you need to route the request and prepare: name, contact details, type of matter or service, and any deadline. Law firms have an extra reason to keep it short. Under ABA Model Rule 1.18, information from a prospective client carries confidentiality duties and can create conflicts, so the ABA encourages asking only for what you need to decide whether to take the matter. Run a conflict check before you invite details, and have your ethics counsel review the form's wording.

  • Turn your website into a consultation desk

Show expertise with real content, not claims

Bigger firms win on name recognition. Smaller firms can win on clarity. Write one plain-language page for each service you want more of: who it's for, how the process works, what it typically involves, and the questions clients ask most. Keep every claim accurate and verifiable. ABA Model Rule 7.1 bars false or misleading statements about a lawyer's services, and Treasury Circular 230 section 10.30 bars false or misleading claims in solicitations by tax practitioners. Avoid outcome promises and unsupported comparisons.

  • Earn reviews and referrals the right way

Ask every client for a review, at the right moment

Ask when the work is done and the client is pleased, such as after a filing is accepted or a matter closes. Send a direct link to your Google Business Profile review page, which Google's own help pages recommend. Ask every client, not only the ones you expect to be happy. Google prohibits offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC's rule on consumer reviews bans incentives tied to a particular sentiment and undisclosed reviews from staff. Lawyers should also check their state bar's rules on reviews and testimonials.

FAQ

Questions about a free professional services website

Can clients book a consultation online?

Online booking is part of the website plan ($29 a month): visitors pick an open time and get a calendar invite. On a free website the booking section stays hidden, so visitors reach you through your contact form, phone or email instead. Switch the plan on whenever you want online booking.

Is the contact form the right place for client documents?

No. Your site runs on HTTPS, but a general contact form is not the place for tax returns or case files. Ask for a short description, then collect documents through the secure method your firm already uses.

Can I list the whole team?

Yes. The About page has a team section: add a photo, name, role and a sentence for each person.

How much does it cost?

Nothing to build and publish: your site goes live free on its own name.epicte.ch address with HTTPS and a small "Made with EpicTech" line in the footer. No card needed. The website plan ($29 a month) adds your own domain, online booking, event RSVPs, newsletters, members-only pages and a download of your site, and removes that line. Cancel any time and the site stays live on its free address.
