Advice

What makes a good cleaning business website.

  1. Spell out what is included

A checklist of what every clean covers, and what costs extra, prevents most misunderstandings. The starter has one.

  2. Give price guidance

Even "from" prices or an hourly rate help people decide to ask for a quote. Say what changes the price: size, how often, extras.

  3. Build trust before the first visit

Say who does the cleaning, whether you bring supplies, and how keys and access work. If you are insured or background-checked, say so, only if it is true.

  4. Ask the right questions on the quote form

Bedrooms, bathrooms, how often, and any pets. The starter's "Get a quote" page already asks the basics.

  5. Ask happy customers for reviews

Regular clients are usually glad to help. Point them to the reviews section on your site and to your Google Business Profile.

The Home Services Lead Playbook: Get Found, Answer Fast, Book the Job

  • Set up Google Business Profile the way Google expects service businesses to

Post real job photos and keep your hours honest

Google recommends adding photos and keeping hours and details current. Upload photos from actual jobs: finished installs, before-and-after shots, your crew and branded vehicles. Get the customer's permission and keep house numbers and faces out of frame. If you take emergency calls, list hours that match when a person actually answers. Saying you're open 24 hours while calls go to voicemail sets up a frustrated caller and, often, a bad review.

  • Build a website that turns a search into a booked job

Write service-area pages that are actually about the area

Google's spam policies treat multiple near-identical pages aimed at specific cities as doorway abuse. A useful area page says something real about working there: the neighborhoods you cover, common local conditions like older homes, hard water, sandy soil or HOA rules, photos of nearby jobs, and how scheduling works in that town. If you can't write something specific for a town, list it on one main service-area page instead of giving it a thin page of its own.

  • Build a website that turns a search into a booked job

Make the quote form work on a phone with one thumb

Test your quote form on your own phone. Keep it to name, phone, ZIP code, the service needed and a short description, and put a tap-to-call button with your real number at the top of every page. Tell people what happens next and when, for example: we'll text you during business hours to confirm a time. Add short, descriptive alt text to job photos so screen reader users and search engines both understand them.

  • Earn reviews and run Local Services Ads within the rules

Reply to reviews like a neighbor, not a marketer

Google's own advice is to keep replies short and honest and mention a detail from the job. For a negative review, reply promptly, address the person by name and acknowledge their specific complaint, then offer to sort it out by phone instead of arguing in public. Never post a customer's private details. The FTC rule also prohibits using threats or groundless legal claims to get a review taken down.

FAQ

Questions about a free cleaning business website

Does the cleaning starter include a quote form?

Yes. The "Get a quote" page has a form called "Tell us about your home". Edit the questions to match how you price.

Can I show before and after photos?

Yes. The About page has a "Before & after" gallery, and you can add the before-and-after section, which shows two photos side by side.

Can customers leave reviews on my site?

Yes. Add the reviews section and visitors can leave a star rating and a few words on your site. Nothing shows until you approve it, and the builder never writes reviews for you.

How much does it cost?

Nothing to build and publish: your site goes live free on its own name.epicte.ch address with HTTPS and a small "Made with EpicTech" line in the footer. No card needed. The website plan ($29 a month) adds your own domain, online booking, event RSVPs, newsletters, members-only pages and a download of your site, and removes that line. Cancel any time and the site stays live on its free address.
